If so, where? These would be "Cajuns", I believe?

The Cajuns are in Louisiana (?-spelling). They are the descendants of the Acadien from Nova Scotia in Canada. And I think that the word "Cajun" is derived from the word "Acadien".

There are many "Cajuns" in the LA area. However, the level of French language spoken is more of a hybrid by most. Just as a large portion of hispanics in Texas now speak a form of Tex-Mex which is a blend of english and spanish, throwing the words in where they need them, the French in LA has become very corrupted. There is very little pure French spoken anymore, and then only by those who have been educated in French. Unlike the Hispanics in the US who have separate radio and TV stations in Spanish, there is no significant French broadcasting in the US.
