I want him to pay for the stress he's caused me and how much BS I had to deal with while renting from him. I still have 2 weeks until I get my deposit back (if I even get it back) and he's not calling me back to verify he received the house keys that I dropped off. This man is the devil - seriously! Below are a list of problems I've had:

1. Entering my apartment without notice on multiple occassions.
2. No smoke detector installed when I moved in. I noticed this four months afterwards and it took him another month to install.
3. Didn't fix two walls he agreed to when I moved in (but it wasn't in the lease that he would do this).
4. Never returns my calls when I need something.
5. Had mail sent to my address for the parents of a student not in my city's school district. Then got mad at me and told me to look for a new place to live when I told him I wasn't going to accept the mail.

He is IMPOSSIBLE and I want him to pay. I don't care how. I want revenge. HELP!

I am a landlord and I agree with you.

Often a letter from an attorney will work wonders, and it does not cost all that much money.

I recommend that you talk to an attorney who specializes in landlord tenant law.

If you are near a law school, they often use landlord tenant law as a trainig ground for law students..

I know, I own rental property near a law school and I hear from the law students on behalf of my tenants from time to time on some of the most minor issues that it is unbelievable.

You have some serious issues here. I would think that a landlord tenant law group of law students and their faculty members could make your former landlord much more cooperative.

If you have a law school near to you, with a landlord tenant group I would contact them.

Otherwise I recommend that you contact an attorney who specializes on landlord tenant law.

No judge will order any money to be awarded based on what you have listed here.

Yes, he wasn't the greatest manager, but that's life not everyone is going to be nice to you or run by the rules.

You could possibly take him to small claims for the deposit but It's doubtful you'd get it back. Most judges side with landlords on matters of deposit.

Also if you want 'revenge' you could call the school district and alert them to the child not being the correct district.

But I would say that could bring some pretty bad karma

Best of luck though. In life you learn to roll with the punches.

If you have documented eveything from phone calls to mail fraud then take him to court. Otherwise you won't have a leg to stand on so to speak. Make sure you have dates and times, names and numbers of any correspondence that you may have that will back you up in court. The judge will look at both sides and then make his or her decision based on what you have to back you up. Just saying it won't do the trick.

Forget it. No matter how upset you are, no court is going to award you anything from 'the stress' you incurred from these relatively insignificant issues.

Just move out and get on with life.

You could file charges against him, but it would probably be a waste of time. You will have a hard time proving any of the accusations you've made. And he'll possibly countersue you. Move, get on with your life.

Move and get on with your life. Let your landlord find a tenant equal to his incompetence or malice, but your best revenge is to find what you want.

Report him to the Inland Revenue I bet he does not declare your rent to them for tax.
That will fix him.
