drivers: check
on-board sound card appears fine
worked fine 24 hours ago, doesnt work now on surround sound
headphones or any other set up with any music, video, or game i run
the speakers and headphones still work fine, its something with my comp, please help
how do i further fix or troubleshoot this issue?

well, looks like you checked everything you should check. try system restore to a day prior to the day it last worked.

Click Start, click run, type dxdiag, ok. Select Sound tab. If device and driver details are there, test the sound. If there is still no sound, problem could be with the output line or jack connection.
If device and driver details are not there you could try system restore or reinstall the driver.
