Blue Dress, yes but if the Dems would play their cards right, it could backfire on the GOP's reasons to help Kucinich out. It could prove to be a real position that the GOP might not want to be in.

I don't care how the man gets impeached. I think it is a disgrace that the elitists in the Democratic party didn't bring it to the table in the first place. We all know that the GOP won't vote for impeachment. It is a test for the Dems. But if the Dems would finally get in touch with the American people they would get behind Kucinich and impeach Cheney. It would be the smartest move they ever made. I'm not counting on it though. Somewhere along the way the elitists in the Dem party moved too far to the right when they lost their spine to stand up for what is morally right in this case.

That is, they obviously still don't get it that the American people voted them into congress and the senate for change. The reason congress is polling so low is because the Dems haven't delivered the change that the American people wanted. This included impeachment.

It reads like they are simply jockeying for postion. A political game rather than a real debate.

I've long said that the Democratic position of Impeachment was to make Republicans shoot their own dog.

Whether or not the vote was supposed to be a serious move, a lot of Republicans are likely seeing Impeachment as their only chance to distance themselves enough from the White House to avoid being Collateral Damage in 2008.

But put the shoe on the other foot. How does it feel knowing that so many Dems voted against impeaching Cheney?

This move by Republicans was not an effort to impeach Dick Cheney, It was simply a tactical move. The Republican leadership felt they wanted a public debate on the impeachment of Dick Cheney in an effort to disgrace the democratic party. This is no way was a show of support by the republicans for impeaching Dick Cheney.

I am glad Kucinich did this and I am disappointed in the house democrats for not wanting to follow it up.

It should be debated on the floor of the House. I hope it gets good airing in committee, but I don't think it will.
