two window washers, bob and joe, are on a 3m long, 395N scaffold supported bt two cables attached to its ends. bob weighs 800N and stands 1m from the left end. two meters from the left end is 500 N washer equipment. joe is .5m from the right end and weighs 990N. given that the scaffold is in rotational and transitional equilibrium, what are the forces on each cable

Summation of vertical forces
T1 + T2= W1+ W2 + W3 + W4=2685N
where
W1 - weight of Bob
W2 - washer equipment
W3 - weight of Joeb
W4 - scaffold

Moment about the left side where T1 reacts
M(left end)= L T2 - R1W1 - R2W2 - R3W3
T2=(R1W1 + R2W2 + R3W3 + R4W4)/L
T2=(1x800 + 2x 500 +2.5 x 990 +1.5x395)/3=
T2=1622.5 N

substituting into the first equation
T1 + (R1W1 + R2W2 + R3W3)/L=W1+ W2 + W3
T1=W1+ W2 + W3 + W4- (R1W1 + R2W2 + R3W3 +R4W4)/L=
T1= 2685N - 1622.5 N=1062.5N
