which of following is the best reaction sequence to use if one wants to accomplish a Markovnikov addition of water to an alkene with minimal sketetal rearrangement

a) water+dilute acid
b) water+concentrated acid
c) oxymercuration-demercuration
d) hydroboration-oxidation
e) none
c,d cant be right cuz that cant be rearrangement
i think answer will be B but i am not sure please help

The answer is C. Oxymercuration-demercuration is a method of synthesizing alcohols from alkenes that obeys Markovnikov's rule. If you use a method that involves acid then carbocations are formed and they are prone to rearrangements. Hydroboration oxidation forms alcohols from alkenes but they are anti Markovnikov.
