I'm seventeen years old and everywhere I go I hear people talking about something called "Soulja Boy." I don't watch MTV or listen to the radio so I'm pretty out of the loop. From what I understand it appears to be a...dance routine? I think? Is it even worth asking about?

I doubt I'll ever listen to it, because hip-hop, especially popular hip-hop makes me want to stab myself in the ears with a screwdriver, but I'm mildly curious as to what it is and why every tool in the world is talking about it.

Soulja Boy is a rap artist. He has this song, Crank Dat Soulja Boy... It's basically the newest fad out there. You can watch the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vum3qgoh0x4 But yeah, everybody pretty much knows the song and the dance it's like a whole bunch of dance stuff mixed in, like lean wit it rock wit it and superman. No, it's not worth asking about. lol Unless you really like rap/hiphop.

well Soulja Boy is a new rapper and he's like 16 or 17 and his first single had a dance to it called the "Superman" or "Crank dat Soulja Boy" or "Crank dat Superman". The dance is sooo universal and everyone is talking about it and doing it. Even parents and stuff lol. The song has a great beat to it and I love the dance. All you have to do is look him up on youtube and there's TONS of videos! Glad to help!

I think that Soulja Boy is the latest flavor (or should I say flava) of the week rap star. The kid looks moronic and his "songs" are probably total crap too. I would stay away from this Soulja Boy unless you like garbage.

He's a novelty who will soon wear off. My younger daughter tells me that so many of these rappers turn out to be one-hit wonders. They come up with novelty rap songs and then can't follow them up with anything worthwhile so they're gone within a few years. She doesn't like rap music herself but keeps up with it so she isn't totally out of the loop with her friends, many of whom do like this music.
