I've just heard my baby's heartbeat for the first time today and I'm 9 weeks pregnant.

It sounds like you got really lucky with that first visit if you heard the heartbeat on doppler. Usually 9-10 weeks is the earliest an OB can find the heartbeat and then only if baby cooperates. It's not uncommon for the heartbeat to be hard to find until the 12th week of pregnancy.
However, if you have an ultrasound done, your OB may be able to see the heartbeat at 6 weeks gestation, but 7-9 is more likely.

I'm 16 weeks and the baby won't stop moving long enough to hear the heartbeat. I've had two ultrasounds and the heart is beating strong. With my 1st, we heard the heartbeat about 12 weeks I think.

I heard the babies heartbeat at 17 weeks with doppler device, but My doctor could hear the heartbeat at 7 weeks.
Kinda hard for me to hear through the stethescope.
All the best to you!

I heard my twins heartbeats at 8 weeks. My friend heard her baby's heartbeat at 6 weeks, it is a definite possibility. It also depends on how hi-tech the doctors equipment is and on the doctor and how they do things.

6 weeks sounds a bit early. But depending on the position of the baby and the willingness of the doctor, you might be able to hear it at your visit.
