It seems the few jokes told are old and tired. The rest of the time, these elitist, feminist educators drone on about the causes for the lack of humor in the feminist movement.
Can't you ladies lighten up a little?

Ladies...I am not advocating humor that is hurtful. Many of you mention the racist jokes, and yes they are in bad taste. Same with many of the feminist jokes you see.
I still believe that laughter is the best medicine to use an old saying. And, I am a firm believer that in order to laugh at someone else, you need to be able to laugh at yourself.

I found Ren's comment to be very funny. What a witty comparison. Should nuns get angry over that?

I realize this is a tired, overused statement, but as a man it's not really something you'd be able to understand. Many jokes like that genuinely HURT and really strike nerves. If I laughed along with most jokes like that, I would only be lying to myself and the people around me...deep down inside, jokes like that really upset me. It's easy enough to ask the members of a particular group why they don't have more of a sense of humor about things like that...but you only fully understand it if you are part of that group.
For example, if I were to tell this joke to an upstanding young black man:
"What's the difference between a black man and a pizza?
A pizza can feed a family of four."
There's a good chance he would be genuinely hurt or angry, because this joke plays into the cruel stereotype that blacks can't provide for their families. It's not something white people could understand.
As I see it, I can find humor in SOME feminist jokes...but there are many that are genuinely painful to listen to, and it's not for lack of a sense of humor that I don't laugh at them.

The first thing you lose when you are righteous is your sense of humor.
I have been a feminist for 40 years. Lots of women think that if they laugh at a joke, they are agreeing with the sentiment. And it hurts their credibility as a serious advocate.
For instance, if you are black, how many funny black racist jokes are there? If your are of Polish heritage, how funny are dumb Polack jokes, especially if you are a little dim yourself?
If you are a woman, and sick and tired of being taken advantage of, how funny are jokes about stupid woman?
No, it is hard to lighten up. And yes, we should.
Now let's tell some hilarious "little penis" jokes.

Sing to the tune of "Beverly Hillbillies"
Come & listen to my story about a man named John.
A poor ex-marine with his little fraction gone.
Seems one night after getting with his wife,
She lobbed off his dong with a swipe of a knife.
Well the next thing u know there's a Ginsu by his side,
& Loraina's in the car taking Jimmy 4 a ride.
She soon got tired of her purple headed friend,
& tossed him out the window as she came around the bend.
Tossed the nub in the shurb.
She drove to the cops & confessed the attack
And they called out the hounds just to get his willie back.
They sniffed & they barked & they pointed over there to
John Wayne Henry that's waving in the air.
Evidence, by a fence.
Well, Peter & John couldn't stay apart to long,
So a dick- doc said, "Hey I can fix that Dong"
A needle & a thread is all we're going to need,
& the whole world waited till they heard that Jonny peed.
Straight stream, even stream.
He healed & hardened & he took his case to court.
With a half-assed lawyer 'cause his assets came up short.
They aquited her of assult & aquited him of rape,
& the only thing that wasn't shown was his pecker on the tape.
Case closed ... Unexposed!!!

I remember during the 1970's there were TONS of simple-minded, insulting, sexist and anti-feminist jokes circulating. For example, the (newly introduced) title of "Ms". was drawn out to 'Mizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz". I recall that at the time insulting ethnic and racist 'jokes' were popular too.
All of it is offensive, in bad taste, outmoded... and so it went the way of the do-do bird. You are suggesting sexist, anti-feminist jokes are ok? What about racist jokes - do you think they'll come back into fashion? Maybe they should, eh? After all, fair is fair and the targets of these racist funnies really should 'lighten up a little'. Why don't you post a question replacing the word 'feminist' with 'racist' and wait for responses? They would make for an interesting read, I'm sure.

If you've never heard jokes about feminists, you must not be one. We're mocked all the time. But one of the worst/best jokes about women I've heard was on a T-shirt. It read
100,000 battered women and all this time I've been eating mine raw?
-That gritty enough for ya?

Striving for equality has never been seen as humourous. Oppression is a downwarn spiral of sadness, despair and apathy.
