Multiply everything by 7 and you get x-7x=-28, so -6x=-28, and divide by -6 both sides. x=14/3

x/7 - x = -4

Multiply both sides by 7 to clear the denominator from the fraction

7(x/7 - x) = 7(-4)

x - 7x = - 28

-6x = - 28

x = 28/6 = 14/3

x/7 - x = -4
Multiply both sides by 7, getting
x-7x=-28
-6x = -28
x = 28/6 = 14/3 = 4 2/3

I'm assuming that the big X and the little x are the same variable.

x/7 - x = -4

x/7 is the same as (1/7)x

1/7(x) - x = -4

x can be (7/7)x 7/7 is 1

1/7x - 7/7x equals -6/7x

(-6/7)x = -4

x = -4(-7/6)
x = -2(-7/3)
x = 14/3

or x = 4 2/3

x/7 - x = -4

Multiply both sides by 7
7(x/7 - x) = -4 * 7
x - 7x = -28
