There is no real age as long as you are not underage. As on under the legal age in your area. You really should be able to determine from there what the best age is. Also, you need to be at an age where you are emotionally and mentally equipped to care fore a child. Most of the time when you are in your late teens and twenties, you are not ready for that kind of responsibility. That type of wisdom and knowledge will come along later in your life. After you have had some life experience. Once you experience life, you may be ready to raise another. It is so important though, that whatever your age you have had a taste of the world yourself, on your own, before bringing another life into things. Are you well balanced? Have the income to care for a child? Before your children turn 18, they cost you over 100,000. So, having financial stability is key. You need to foster a loving and caring environment for a child. A steady home...
The fact that you only asked about age to me flirts with the fact that you may not be ready for having children. Think about it. Enjoy your life a bit and when the time is right and you're married, then you won't have to ask the proper age. You will already know for yourself.

Married... for one and also, AGE isn't really the determining factor. It's more along the lines of financial ability, time and devotion. You could be 40 and still not ready to have kids because you are devoted to your job or your freedom. But then again if your 25, you might not want to go out all the time and party or work 12 hour days at the office and sitting down and starting a family is more important than spending on self pleasures. PLUS!!! You should have a kid until you are well educated. No dropping out of high school in hopes you'll get by on a 1/2 shift at your local Mc-Ds.

It's hard to assign an precise age, by way of a number, as to how old a girl should be prior to becoming pregnant. This is due to the differences in attitude and maturity of the individual themselves. In other words, consider the differences in the maturation among a diverse group of young ladies of say......age 21.

While 18-21 might be seen as a reasonable minimum age, I've known dozens of girls that had no business bearing a child, at 25, 30, or for that matter, ever !!

It's important to have "sewn your oats," achieved any/all goals regarding education and/or career that you have, and perhaps most importantly, be in an stable, loving, and (married) relationship.

In short, and aside from any long term career plans, I would say........25 years old.

Are you married?
Do you have a college degree?
Will you have help from parents, friends, other family? (example: if you have to work and get very little paid time off, who will keep your child when it's sick and you REALLY have to go to work?)
Daycare? Are you prepared to spend $150-$250 a week for daycare so you can continue to work?
Insurance? Do you have medical insurance? It could cost up to $15,000 for delivery (if any complications)
You need to have a houshold income of at least $45,000 (if you live in the South) and $50,000+ if you live up North or out West just to "barely" survive!

Lots to think about BEFORE you plan to have a baby. They are wonderful blessings and I'm sure you have lots of love to give a baby.....but just know 110% that you are prepared financially, emotionally & mentally.

I don't really feel that it's so much an age. I think once married, it should be at least five years. People need that time together to do things young married people can do without kids. If you're a single, and insist on having kids, as long as you're out of school, and you can afford the responsibility (afford time, and money) of having a child, I see no problem with it. My self, I don't want kids until I'm at least 30

I'm 22 and i'm 25 weeks pregnant, i know i'm young but i'm in a strong stable realionship and i'm also getting married to my partner hopefully soon after the baby is born, plus i've been clubbing etc and feel that i'm ready to settle down and have children now, but i would say that there is no right age to have children just as long as that person cares and loves the child.

It is not the matter of how old, but of course they should be over 18 years old legally.

The question is more aimed at; Are you ready finanacially, etc. Have a home with money saved incase emergencies? Babies can be expensive (diapers, formula's, etc dr's shots, clinic's) and are you happy in marriage? Have a good job to be able to support the baby until it turns 18? There is alot of responsibility to having children. Ask yourself"Am I really ready?" When babies come, alot of the wild life stops.
Importantly, don't smoke or use drugs. Healthy babies are what's important. Thanks.

I remember from health class in high school the best age for a woman to have a child is between the ages of 22 to 28, the female body doesn't have many changes in this range.

When they are in a solid relationship with their significant other, have enough money to live on, and do not feel the urge to party all night. I had a baby at 19 and one at 35, I was a much better mother at 35 thant I was at 19. I am thinking about 30 is a good age.
