The Gainey Ranch course is very nice. I like it because it is very spread out and offers beautiful views of the mountains. It is located on Doubletree Ranch Road, a block away from Scottsdale Road.

The City of Phoenix golf courses offer a "discount card" that you can purchase for $50 and then get discounts on individual rounds of golf. Might be worth it if you play several rounds. Here's the link: http://phoenix.gov/SPORTS/clubhouse.html

You can try booking online for golf tee times. Most golf tee time providers offer internet rates - a tad lower than the published rates at the golf courses.

Hope that helped! Have a great time golfing in Phoenix!

All the prices go down in January because not that many people play then.
