Unfortunately, there really isn't a place in hollywood for models. Whenever one goes to find an agent they have to be very experienced, talented, special skills, and training. One would be wasting their time if they didn't have any acting training. The likelyhood of some agency picking up a model and enrolling them in acting classes is very unrealistic. You don't have to go to a college for acting, it would sure help, but it is definetly not as easy as it sounds. The arts colleges that teach acting (both medicore and reputable ones) require knowlege in acting before admitance into their programs.
Whether or not you even bother trying to get into these colleges is really up to you.
Good Luck =)

Yes, I think there are quite a few "stars" who have broken into the business on a combination of their looks and charisma. Note that it can't just be looks alone. You can be the most beautiful person in the world, but if you don't have that quality that lights up a screen or the charisma that makes people want to know you, you're not going to be successful. Acting is not passive, you can't just sit there being beautiful and expect to be hired.
I think that many of these stars are probably very charming in real life and play characters that are basically themselves, so audiences like them. When taking on roles that are a stretch for them character-wise, they’re not so successful. I’m mainly thinking of female actresses because looks seems to play a much bigger part for women than men in Hollywood.
Your question about whether or not an agent would take someone on who is beautiful, but has no training is very subjective. It depends on the person and the agent. Remember, first and foremost, it’s a business and agents are going to sign actors they think will land roles and make money. There’s no definite answer to what that consists of in terms of looks, training or experience. If you have the type of look that can really catch an agents eye and they think you have talent potential, maybe they will think it’s worth it to go ahead and sign you and then help you with some training (I heard that this happened with Charlize Theron).
However, it’s unrealistic to expect relying on your looks to be a viable option for pursuing an acting career. There are thousands of beautiful people out there who aren’t booking. There are so many uncontrollable factors in the business, you might as well control the ones you can – training and experience. Take classes, do plays, student films, anything. Keep healthy and fit so that you look and feel your best, but your looks should not be the top quality you bring to the table. Your talent should.

If someone is handsome enough to catch their attention, they might give them a chance at acting, but it doesn't always work-Elvis was terrible in his early films. Other untrained actors do a picture or two and fade away. You dont need to go to college or university for acting, usually a bad idea anyway. There is a path to an acting career without that. There are acting coaches, etc. People have certainly gone from being professional models to acting without having gotten a degree in acting.
