Is they're a way to check on a caluclator the sign of a rational number?

K so I have to do a math question and it asks :
Explain how you can use a calculator to check the sign of a rational number.
Is they're a button you press or something on the calculator?

If the number is negative, the calculator should show a negative sign.
Automatically.

Try 3 - (10/3) and the calculator should display -0.33333333...

or 0.33333333 -
(on some models, the sign comes after)

you should not have to press anything special (except, maybe, = to complete the operation).
