the northern part (1/3) is mountainous and reflective of the alpine scenery it also contains the po river valley which is the most fruitful area of the country and also contains the industrial center of the country. the remaining 2/3 is rather arid and mountainous down the center of the"boot" there are several active volcanoes including vesuvius, etna, and stromboli.

its very mountainous all the way across the top, and down its length, it has some very active volcanoes, it also has a few little islands around its coast, and just off africa too, there are extensive pasta plantations in the north, and the pizza fields of pozzuoli are to be seen to be believed
