I like Hallie! It is not a nickname, it is a full name. The definition is "from the word 'Hallelujah'" I guess the full form of it would be Hallelujah, but that is not a name! I don't think it sounds too simple, I think Hallie Rae is beautiful.

P.S. People! It's HAL-E, like Hallie Berry????? Jeeze!

It's okay, but be prepare that people may not say the name right. So you do not get upset. I know a girl name Kaelyn, I called her Kaelyn, and her mother got upset and said her name is Katelyn. I do not have a problem with the name, but I do not normally put letters in names.
Hal lee could be pronounced Hayley, You may be safer with Hallie, but it's up to you. If people do not say your child name right, it's just a mistake, no reason to yell at them

My daughter is Hayley, I call her Halo
Halo will work with Hallie Rae also

I actually like Hallie, but prefer it as a nickname (especially with the middle name listed ... "Hallie Rae" sounds like a medication of some sort, I'm sorry to say). There are the traditional options, of course, such as Harriet or Henrietta, but you're not limited to those by any means. Hallie could easily be a nickname for Halas, Hollis, Alice, Alison, Hadley, Euthalia, Halina, Mahalia, Mahala, Michaela, etc., depending on your style. ;)

Hallie is a sweet nickname, but I dislike it as a given name. It's traditionally a nickname for Harriet, but Henrietta, Holly, Hannah, Helen, Hilary, or Hyacinth would all be fine, but not just Hallie.

Hallie is such a cute nickname, tons better than Hayley.

then how is it pronounced? halli ray? would both names be used together or is rae a middle name?
I personally don't like it but i prefer the traditional names which make it easier for children to pronounce & spell etc
My daughters names are Abbi & Lucy - nice & easy names to say & spell as well as suiting their little personalities.
Just my opinion.
