on my problem it just gives the weight and time but not the force and distance and tells me to find the work ...........how do i find it??

The work done on the object will equal the change in energy for the object. For instance, if you lift an object to a higher height, the work done will be the difference in gravitational potential energy. Or if you push something across a frictionless surface, the work done will equal the change in kinetic energy.
