They don't randomly freeze accounts. They do it with a reason such as suspicion of fraud. If Paypal allowed the accounts to be used when Paypal suspects there is something fraudulent because it would allow Paypal to make more money then Paypal is breaking the law. It would not take long before the Justice Department got wind of it and did an investigation and discovered that Paypal was not suspending the fraudulent accounts and Paypal would have to pay millions (or billions) in fines, penalties, and reparations.

Unfortunately I do not know, because it's never happened to me or anyone I know. Are you sure this info came from the true paypal? I received A LOT of fake paypal emails lately. Make sure it is from paypal.com. It might be frozen because someone tried to login with too many of the wrong passwords too. That's all I can think of....good luck!

If you've sold something online and screwed over the buyer and the buyer paid thru paypal and filed a complaint against you then they will freeze your account until you have satisfactorily made arrangements with the buyer.

Fraudulent suspicion, illegal or not allowed items, possible fictious information, or the possibility they believe your account has been accessed by a 3rd party. Just because they make money on transactions does not mean they will turn the blind eye. They will lose more money that way.

regrettably, PayPal is the main important scam on line. They took $524 of my funds and paid it to a scammer. i offered 2 very costly telephones on Ebay, and the seller sent me a equipment with transport confirmation. I eagerly opened it to locate...a ROCK!! confident, a stone. Tiny boulder. the seller indignantly confirmed PayPal the transport receipt and PayPal wiped clean out my account and iced over it for "fraudulent activities". So i'm out numerous funds and extremely, very offended. additionally, study the nice print approximately PayPal's "expenses" to look into a declare. the charges consume up any funds you have had coming to you. funds orders for me!!!

Please, be very careful with Paypal, they hijack customer's money for 180 days
so they can day-trade it and put the profit in their own pockets.
So they usually use "Money on hold" or "suspicious activities" as an excuse to use their customer's money.

Please check this out, and please notice that they advertise another product. Since I don't know this product and I don't know anyone who does you should distrust it too.

Did paypal actually do this or did you get a scam email saying so? Best to call them and ask, its usually pretty easy to get someone on the phone.

My best guess, its due to a complaint OR suspicious activity.

I don't understand the question. What exactly are they freezing (preventing you from doing) and what transaction are you trying to make?
