Actually the product placement is probably what made the game possible, if that company didn't invest in the game, it's possible that they wouldn't be able to finish it.
Also, i'm sure it's to make you feel like you're watching a real match on TV, like a loading screen is a commercial break.
I agree, product placement has gotten out of control, but i would think it funny when i'm playing Halo, or Doom and i see a Mountain Dew can on a table, or a Pepsi machine in a break room in Rainbow Six.

Interesting. I don't notice a lot of ad placement in video games, usually because I play games that take place in a fantasy world (World of Warcraft, Mario, etc.). I can see how it would be annoying in your example, like a loading screen. It might as well be Pepsi Boxing if they're doing that.
My boyfriend is big on noticing product placement in movies, and I generally don't (which is not the goal of the company). However, when I do notice it (in a movie I saw, every person who used a computer had an iMac - that's not statistically accurate), it puts me against the product rather than interested in buying it.

I personally think it's kinda cool when the products in games are real. It makes the game that much more realistic.
For example...in a racing game you can race a real Porsche 911, not a Puma 911...haha.
I do think that games with blatant commercials (with talking) are unnecessary though - or at least yeah - make the game cheaper to buy!

well i agree they do get annoying but i think that it helps lower the price of the games because ,say for instance in GTA IV burger king and mountain dew spend alot of money so that they are everywhere in the game and the colors are more noticable i think it will help lower the prices for it cuz they (Rockstar) already is getting alot of money from the sponsors. If not your right ,they should

it style of feels mac books would be out of you classification as Mac's OSX working gadget isn't able to video games. (nicely customarily maximum video games are in Microsoft abode windows). 17" inch is fairly vast for a lappy unit yet i think that must be for you enjoying WoW. examine the three hyperlinks on your seek of 17" show lappy. each and all the manufacturers those days are fairly sturdy. right this is my around-down on manufacturers: DELL (i've got seen movies of DELL laptops being dropped, spilled over coffee, severe torture yet nonetheless working) HP Toshiba ~sturdy success pal

Well, they need money to make the games
and that's how they get it.
Besides, it's kinda funny to see all the product placement.. especially when they try to like hide it.. lol
