That doesn't make a lot of sense; it should total 90 (or 360/4).

So I'm assuming it's working on 90 = 70. 90/70 = 1 2/7
40 * 1 2/7 N, 30 * 1 2/7 E = 51 3/7 N, 38 4/7 E.

NE = 45 N, 45 E
NE-E = 67.5 N, 22.5 E
NE-E-NE = 56.25 N, 33.75 E
NE-E-NE-NE = 50.625 N, 39.375 E

It's approximately a ratio of 3 NE:1 E
