Of the listed below, for those of you who've seen them (and know them well), I'd like you to list both your favorite song from them and the FIRST ACT finale (not the finale to the whole play, just the first act).

Thanks.

1. Grey Gardens
2. The Color Purple
3. Gypsy
4. Cabaret
5. Flower Drum Song

Thanks tons.

Gypsy's first act finale is Everything's Coming Up Roses. My favorite song in the first act is If Mama Was Married, and in the second act is You Gotta Have a Gimmick.

In Flower Drum Song my favorite song is A Hundred Million Miracles. That last song I can remember from the first act is Don't Marry Me, but that doesn't seem like a finale song. I haven't seen this is a very long time, so I may be forgetting something.

My favorite song in Cabaret is Don't Tell Mama.

Grey Gardens is a pretty new play and all I know is what I saw on the Tony's last year. The Color Purple is pretty new too, and I haven't had the opportunity to see either of them.

I can only answer for number 4. Cabaret. The act 1 finale is chorus of "Tomorrow Belongs to Me." It is started as a solo by Fraulein Kost, who is then joined by Ernst Ludwig. At this point the entire chorus joins in. I did the show back in college, playing Cliff, and this was one of the more disturbing moments for me. My favorite song from the show would be the Emcee's "I Don't Care Much." The song was originally introduced in the movie, then added for the 1987 and more recent revival on Broadway.
