The Democratic has not accomplished anything, nor has the the Bush Administration. Every time the Democrats have something going, President Bush vetoes it because it's not a conservative idea. Again it goes the opposite way too. whenever presidents Bush tries to pass something the Democratic Congress vetoes it for the same reason. So really, no one in our government is getting anything done.

It is obvious the Democratic Majority are not actually democrats.

Just like Clinton's Pro Republican agenda. Many politicians are not what they claim

If the Congress was truly democratic then they would have impeached Cheney Bush and Pelosi

The amnesty deal was part of a law drafted and proposed by Congress, not the administration. They stopped themselves.

The Democratic congress had virtually nothing to do with the ending of debate on the amnesty bill.

The backlash of the country did that.

It is the democrats who keep trying to bring life back into that bill. The conservatives are the ones who would not vote for cloture.

Get your facts straight.

Most of the Democrats were for it. It's the Republicans who stopped it. Ted Kennedy was all over that thing like a dog in heat. If it wasn't for the Rebublicans (a minority, but it needed 2/3 vote to pass), every illegal alien in this country would be a de facto citizen by now.

Please remember to give both sides of the story.

It was a bipartisan effort.

Same for the Dubai Ports deal.

I fault Bush for not being more aggressive on defending our borders and deporting the illegal criminals.

EDIT: I like what the answer below me says.

If it weren't for the American people bringing this issue into the light, then both parties would've pursued the amnesty plan more vigorously.

Remember though, over all, it's still the liberal Democrats who were/ always will be pushing for amnesty. (I.E.- Harry Reid, Durbin)

Even pro-illegal sites state that it wan't just the Dems stopping it.

Those who defeated the Dream Act (mostly Republicans and Democrats from Republican states) struggled to come up with plausible justifications for their position.

As of this moment with the exception of the Senate, The Democratic Controlled Congress may have finally overridden one of Bush's vetoes. It is too bad it is wasn't SCHIP though.

They haven't done anything because they have submitted no meaningful, good legislation. Good legislation is always supported and passes. The President's quality control over Congress' work has been excellent.

They did. They haven't done as much as we wanted them to. They have been very weak as a group in terms of standing up to Bush and Cheney.
