Depends on the state. One tip I can provide you for any state is that you should look into who is hiring and who you want to work for ahead of time. They will usually have a real estate licensing school of their own. If you sign up with them, they pay for post exam costs such as the fingerprinting, application fee, etc.

There are two tests you'll have to take. One is for everybody in every state, and the other is for your state only. You have to pass both of these tests.

A general business education would be helpful, but you don't need a degree or any other specific type of training before you start real estate school.

You can go to a community college for real estate classes, but many real estate companies with sponsor you for classes then you work for that agent -- i.e. he holds your license for you. There usually isn't any kind of time requirement, so even if they paid for you tuition at real estate school, you're not obligated to continue to work there.

Start out by calling the big brokers in your area. They are your best resource for this.

Each state is different. Look up your local college and/or local real estate school(s). They can tell you specifically what is required to get your license as well as continuing education courses to keep your license, what fees are required, etc.

There are web pages to aid you study the requisites, however it could be sensible to appear within the neighborhood paper for advertisements from countrywide, now not neighborhood, truly property organizations that present on-the-task coaching, categories or even apprenticeships. An agent is "degree one" whilst a dealer is "degree 2". Start with agent, transfer as much as dealer. It relatively is bigger to partner your self with a well, dependable countrywide corporation as a substitute than attempt to cross it on my own. If you're inclined to paintings rough and feature the capability to promote, record and manage humans, you're going to cross some distance. Check along with your neighborhood neighborhood institution and spot what publications are supplied, what the expenditures and requisites are. You'll must take the ones publications whether or not or now not you're related to a corporation, so that you could as good get began!
