I bought a Yamaha RD350, YPVS, and rode it throughout the year, commuting from East Surrey to Westminster. Mid-life crisis became a passion and I rode to and from work in London for the next 13 years - on a Kawasaki ZZR 600, Yamaha XJ 600, Yam XV 750 and then to my eternal shame, a Yam 250 Majesty scooter - that was my geriatric crisis.

Not too long after I turned 40 my youngest daughter gave birth to a son she was not able to raise. My husband and I took him in and then found out that there was another child on the way. We took that child in too. Now we have custody of them. The oldest is now 4 and his sister is 10 months younger because she was born two months premature.
So I guess you could say that I spent my mid-life crisis money on two kids. LOL

I always wanted a convertible, so I leased a Nissan 350Z silver ragtop. It was great in the summer with the top down, but when the weather turned cold & snowy, it was truly hazardous to drive. I had to return the car & get something with AWD. What a let down!! Also, there's no room in the trunk because of the convertible & having a two seater also took some getting used to.
I guess your dreams are just that!!

I can honestly say hand on heart I never had a mid life crisis, well unless you class the menopause as mine.

Haven't had actual crisis yet, but expect it any day now. A friend of mine, a GP had his MLC manifest itself by way of a small, not very interesting tattoo on his shoulder, which I found rather disappointing really.

I treated myself to a '62 re-issue Fender Strat, which I can have all-year-round fun with. Not sure the neighbours agree though!
