You can literally walk!
Or if you are reeeeeally lazy you can get in a cab for around 19 seconds.
But honestly, you will be able to see the NEC when you are outside the Airport.

The NEC and Birmingham Airport share the same (very large) site. There used to be an overhead maglev connection between the two - but now you have to walk. From the Airport concourse, simply follow the signs.

The NEC is situated right next to the airport.
Forget walking/taxi's............................
There is a free Air-Rail Link ( a mono rail shuttle) that connect the airport to the airport train station( B'ham International) which itself is connected to the NEC complex!
The mono rail runs every 2 mts and is a 3mts ride. Follow the signs when you get off to the NEC. You will have to follow a walkway for a while to get to the main NEC complex, it is so much faster and efficent, and I have done this loads of times.
The mono rail is located on the first floor of Terminal 1 by the way :)

You can walk...but there is also a bus and rail link. Literally minutes apart. Check the airport website for more information;
