I have been at my position for 4 months now... they recently decided to take away my daily responsibilites due to what they say is "ineffectiveness". My take is that i was not trained properly for the position.
They have now currently given me daily work of an administrator, and have seemed to do everything in there power to have me quit.

A fellow employee has informed me they are trying to have me quit, and if i dont quit with my head high they will then let me go. soon... any advice?
Thanks

The employee that has informed me of this didnt say it bluntly... he will not help me in any case....
At this time I am working on my daily task, I am not slacking at all. I will also job hunt starting today... I started in late June. Im not sure if that works as my benefit or not, but if I am let go, I just dont want to be in the position where I am collecting nothing.

Thanks for everyones time.

This is what is termed as constructive dismissal, (will the other person back you up with writen evidence and witness for you in court of law), it is also harrassment and both are ilegal and against human rights act > You must seek the advice of a solicitor who deals in employment issues!!!!! Dont waist any time get right on to it Also contact ACAS about this, and talk to an advisor at your local jobcentre plus,
you can also get advice on the telephone my advisor Janice Dunn 0191 387 0000 Ask her to call you back to save you money, or ask to speak to a benefits advisor at your local jobcentre, BUT DONT WALKOUT ON THE JOB YOU HAVE, if you must go wait until the company dismiss you (that which is in capitals because if you leave your claim is VOID) all the best keep me posted you may want more from me mrjones1956@hotmail.co.uk no charge ever!! regards andy try to hang in there at least another two months!!!

Depending on what state you are in, you can collect depending on why you were fired. If you are fired without being given warning and/or reason, you can collect. You can also quit and collect in certain circumstances but it is very difficult. Typically it is just if your company is going about things illegally/illegitimately or you are in an unsafe or threatening environment. This happened to me and it is very difficult to collect because I had all of the above and surprise, they lied to get out of the situation. But it can be appealed. I got letters of reference from coworkers who were willing to speak out or left the company, previous employers, character references, etc. I also had documentation of things that happened at the company. The only reason I didn't go through with the appeal was that I had a family member working at the same company who I was sure would be retaliated against (and was). Depending on your reasoning for needing to get out, call you employment security/unemployment office and contact a senator.

Same thing here. They fire you,you are unemployed through no fault of your own. You quit, you will not be eligible for unemployment.
May I suggest you were in a job that was not a good match, and they're giving you a chance to redeem yourself.?
You should take advantage of it. Do quality work and impress them. Meanwhile, you're between a rock and a hard place.

Do not quit, that deems you voluntarily unemployed and therefore not eligible for unemployment.

Since you know they are trying to get you to leave the company, and you wish to do so with you head high, now is the time to start aggressively seeking another position.

If you quit, you likely won't qualify for unemployment. Wait for them to let you go. Plus, you'll need time to find new insurance and everything if you get benefits through your employer.

If you quit, odds are you get nothing; if they let you go without good cause at least you have a chance.

JOB HUNT

If you quit you will be ineligible for unemployment. If you have not been employed for long enough you will also be ineligible.
