Hey everyone -- I'm a first time pregnant mom, and I can't believe how much food I want! Is this normal? I am normally very reasonable with what I eat (105 lbs. at 5'3" tall), and I'm just completely RAVENOUS most of the time. I'll eat lunch ... say a nice hearty turkey sandwich and a side of soup. After that ... still hungry .... so I'll have some of these wheat crackers I love ... ok, still hungry. So, fruit by then because I'm feeling like I'm eating so much that I have to eat healthy things ... which I'm sure is good. But man, when does the hunger pang finally go away! lol ... help, before I eat my own arm! I need some stories ladies (or gentlemen that have had a pregnant lady in their life)!

Yup, my best friend ate 5-8 meals a day, but small meals. She had horrible nausea during the first 2 trimesters of her pregnancy, and she noticed that it increased when her stomach was empty. She would eat grapes as soon as she woke up and would have healthy snacks in between meals to keep her from feeling so hungry and sick.

It might pass but you may end up feeling more and more hungry! just make sure to get enough fiber, as eating too much protein can give you constipation and make you very uncomfortable during your pregnancy.

Intense hunger is completely normal during pregnancy. I always try to explain to people that when I'm pregnant and hungry it's a different kind of hunger, its like you don't just want to eat but you "need" to eat and quick when hunger strikes or else you feel you'll just "die" of hunger! Pregnancy hunger definitely is the most intense dramatic urge to eat I've experienced ever. So please hit the nearest exit on the freeway when my stomach growls cause I'm not just normal hungry I'm pregnant hungry and must be fed immediately LOL.

I was hungry my whole pregnancy too. I ate healthy food on my pregancy diet. It may be tied in with blood sugar levels. My baby only weighed 6 lb. 12 oz. However, I gained 55 pounds, and that was by avoiding junk food, sweets, soft drinks, and fried foods. I lost 60 pounds by the time she was 6 months old just from nursing.

Yep! I went through that. It starts out fun, then gets kinda frustrating! Like you can NEVER be satisfied. I guess enjoy it while you can. Soon your stomach will be shoved up into your throat and you will only be able to eat tiny portions at a time. Good job on the healthy eating! Keep it up! :)

I'm probably not gonna make you feel any better but I was like this(so far) my entire pregnancy. Thursday will be the beginning of my 28th week and practically the whole time I've stayed starving! I'm sooo scared to go to the dr. on Thursday and see how much weight I've gained!

Well, at 7 weeks, I feel as if I don't eat, I'll faint. So, I eat to survive, and that has to be something every couple hours. I'm so tired also, ahhhhhh!!!!!!!
xoxo!!!
