Democracy would at best be a very temporary thing in Pakistan. Islamism is gaining ground fast, there, so any future election would just put theocrats into power, anyway. Currently, it's a military dictatorship with democratic trappings. If it held a real election, it would then become an Islamist theocracy with democratic trappings.
