Not everyone loves their teams coach. Did you ever see the video clip of a father and son team jumping out the stands to kick the first base coach during a MLB game? Some fans take it to the extreme.

Probably because football fans sometimes have trouble controlling their passion for the game, They are there to protect the coach from their adoring fans!!!!

It is for security... Look at Andy Reid of the Philly Eagles... Philly fans blame him for them losing, so they want to attack him. The police are there to keep the fans away from them.
