I saw a report that Republicans were being swayed to vote for him despite his liberal views.

No, unfortunately I am not kidding. I read this today. I totally believe that it will be between Huckaby and Paul as one answerer wrote for selecting who will represent our party.

bitterpill, I doubt it,
If Hillary is elected, the republicans will come out in droves to vote for whoever is running against her.
Myself included.

none. zero.
The Republican party is split right now between pro-war fundamentalist zealots and small government fiscal conservatives. The one group will pick Huckabee, the other Ron Paul.
Here's the important part--in both groups the convictions run deep enough that they will abstain rather than vote for a Democrat.

If this is the case, it is only based on his running against Hillary.
While I respect Obama and think he truly wants what is best for America, his views are too liberal and I do not agree with him. I also think he needs more experience. Maybe he will be ready in 4 more years.

Probably those Republicans who are sick and tired of America being sold to the highest bidders and decide to re-register their party preferences.
Just take the Iraq War for example and judge whether we really have real friends fighting in huge numbers with our Troops, or mere chicken feet from so-called allies and friendly nations that leave our Troops to fend for themselves while their sheer interests is to have contractors build their business interests in Iraq instead of serving beyond the highly protected areas???

I am probably closer to a Republican than a Democrat, but he is my favorite of the top three Democratic candidates.
In the general election, my vote would depend on who he was running against.

I'm not a Republican or a Democrat, but I'd put him pretty low on my list of Democrats.

Well, Republicans can't vote for Democrats in the primary so unless he is the nominee, which he won't be, then Republicans won't have a chance to vote for him.
