as far as feelings and basic thoughts are concerned? do we overrate our thoughts as being exclusive to ourselves. when was the last time you really thought deeply? did not your feelings bring you back to earth before you finished the thought? is there something we have forgotten? or ignored?

logic separates us from animals,
though we do have animalistic instincts, its our higher level of intellect that should separate us from animals
however some have reduced themselves to the lower nature

On a primitive level, yes; but just to answer your question puts a person at a much higher level than a critter.
Yes, we have physical bodies and are subject to hunger, thirst, need to sleep, subject to the heat and cold, etc. Which is why Mankind strove so long to make even a tiny improvement in life.
I am old; I have never lived in an air-conditioned building. When I was young, if it froze outdoors, it would freeze indoors. Water came from a hand pump out in the yard or from a spring. The toilet was "the small house out back of the big house". Heat was provided by chopping wood. While that was so much better than peoples in earlier centuries, you don't have much time to contemplate things when you are struggling just to survive!
So, yes, at a lower level, we are like animals, but even our feelings are much more complex. Modern man has much more time to contemplate things, but most people spend that time on pleasure. Makes you think, right?

We are just that,animals.
But what sets us apart from all other animals is a language that allows us to be objective.
Intelligence is a survival instinct, which all animals have.
The ability to be objective also endows us with the virtue of being technological and may be a major factor in the longevity [200 to 400 years] of technological societies like ours.

Animals do not perceive death the way humans do. On that level we differ greatly.
edit: Think about pack mentality and social groups in the animal kingdom. The sick or dying are usually driven out.

I think we are like animals in the way that we are born with instincts but we can control our instincts...
I think deeply when Im going through and emotionally stressful moment and I think of death and the mystery of death... i know it may sound stupid but well i thought i should say !

We are animals. The only differences between us and the other animals are that we have the intellect to destroy ourselves as a species and that we know from an early age that we will inevitably die.

Yes. We are very animalistic in thought. Look at Freud. He said we process everything through the channels of food, sex, and shelter. That's pretty true for a man I think.
