Well... ya put a girl and a boy in a room with toys... the boys are going to grab the Tonka toys, the girls are gonna have Tea partys and play with Barbies. It's the way we're wired.

It becomes more refined in it's nature as we grow.... IMHO

I think so. I think It has to do with how girls & boys are brought up. Most boys are expected to be rough & play football & sports while girls are treated like they are breakable and are more encouraged to be cheerleader on the side. I think the views on what children should do are changing with the present time, but you still see those gender differences. Guys are more likely to have a hobby of rebuilding cars & girls may be more interested in scrapbooking,

in general most women don't go out and play golf or fix cars (not saying they don't or its wrong but its not a huge hobby amongst women) and not many men want to go out and do scrap booking... i know thats an over generalization for both sides, and personally i wouldn't want to do any of it... but it helps the point... that is like asking why a teenager doesn't like doing the stuff their grand parents do... just personal preference...

Women unlike men are naturally attracted by things that are feminine and colorful so most women tend to choose hobbies along these lines.

Friendship like a football that doesn't crack? I do not understand ! I think a lot of men do not need close friendships, other than their significant other, while many women seem to need close women friends. Just my observation.

Originally I would have said guys like things like hunting, sports, video games, and collecting things. Girls to me would be like sewing, volleyball, swimming, tanning, and maybe dancing. However, now-a-days I've seen girls play video games (though they've never beaten me...well...maybe 1 time...or 2 times...or 20 times...ok most of the time) and I've seen guys who sew. I think it really depends on what guy or girl you are referring to. My favorite hobby is reading the Bible or singing praise and worship songs to Jesus.

Interesting Question. From what Ive learned in Sociology Class, Males are pretty much socialized to Participate in activities that stress "Goal-Orientation and Collectiveness" (Sports). Females, however, tend to be socialized to internalize and express emotionality. They tend to participate more in the "arts"..

Because men and women are physically and mentally different.

Our brains are wired differently. God made us different. We think different.
