I may be showing ignorance, but i haven't heard of RED ROSES. I did thoroughly enjoy Rose Madder though. I liked insomnia a lot. Cujo was depressing for me too.(although the kid annoyed me so I wasn't too sad) Carrie was amazing. I read misery in a cabin in northern wisconsin at night mostly. It...the part with the bird...nuf said. I love the short stories from the boys club. There are a couple in a couple different books, but they are so captivating for me.

yes kathleen C I loved the langoliers and I saw a made for tv movie from it when I was a kid but haven't ever seen since.
To the girl about the mist, the story is in, I think, skeleton crew. It's okay, but like most of the adaptations the movie will probably be a weak imitation.

Of course I loved The Stand. There is no way I could pick just one. I thought that Word Processor of the God's was hilarious.
How can you not love Stephen King?
He truly is one of the best authors of our time.

MAN!! I like all of his stuff! I first read "IT" when I was in 5th grade and since then I've been hooked! I loved "Gerald's Game" and this book with a collection of short stories I think it was "Night Shift" with "Cat's Eye" and "Grave Yard Shift" It had those 2 stories in it along with some other really good ones like "Sometimes They Come Back" and "Salem's Lot". I made my parents listen to the book on tape of "Nightmares and Dreamscapes" you know...the one with "Chattering Teeth" on a tirp to Lake Tahoe and they liked it a lot. I just love his stuff! He's by far my favorite author and I always thought about writing him a letter but I never did. I just think he has a wonderful mind and a gift for story telling.

Impossible to pick just one. I really like his Bachman books. The Long Walk and the Running Man are two shorter stories that maybe get overlooked.
That short story about the wounded doctor trapped on the small island is pretty good. The one about the mill and the rats. Skeleton Crew and Night Shift are great short story collections in general.

Book: Needful Things
Short Story: The Dead Body (I think that's the orig name, it's what the movie Stand By Me was adapted from)
Book of Short Stories: Skeleton Crew
I also really liked the Green Mile series
Least favorite: Dark Tower epic series--loved it & followed it faithfully till the end, and was quite disappointed with the cop-out ending!

My favorite book would be a tie between Salem's Lot and Desperation. My favorite short story would be Jerusalem's Lot, and my favorite book of short stories would be Everything's Eventual.
They probably meant Rose Red which was only a movie and a screenplay.

My favorite was "The Stand" closely followed by "Rose Madder" and 'The Talisman". Those three books hooked me. I've read all of his works. I'm reading Lisey's story now.

I like the Dark Tower series, though I've not finished it yet. Of the ones I have read, I think the Drawing of the Three is my favorite so far.
'Eye of the Dragon' is also quite good, though a completely different style from how he usually writes. But some of his characters, like Flagg, make cameos. ^_^
