I thought I was pregnant, then I got my period and it is much heavier and more painful than normal. I hadn't taken a pregnancy test (my period was late but I hadn't missed it quite yet, it ended up being a week and a half late) any ideas as to what is going on?

you may have had a miscarraige, but not sure if you can tell at this point. Your doctor could run blood tests to check your hormone levels but it may be too late. I had a miscarraige @ 6 and a half weeks. My doctor told me that it happens alot. One out of every three pregnancies ends in a miscarraige. Which is true for me be/c I have had two children w/ a miscarry in between. it's early enough that if it was you won't need to undergo any procedures. At this point I would just think of it as a late period. Good Luck to you

You could still be pregnant and be on your period, plenty of women have that happen to them.

Talk to a doctor for a test.

It could be a chemical pregnancy. It happened when the egg is fertilized, but didn't attached on the uterus properly.

you need to see your Dr.

I hope it wasn't anything serious. but if it was a miscarriage you may need to have some follow up to make sure everything is OK.

Good luck
