I like your lineup except for a couple of execptions. Melky is a better deal than Rowand. He is less expensive and a better feilder than Rowand. Keep the infield except take out Giambi. Also, get Miguel Cabrera and put him on 3rd. The pitching is perfect for me.

SP5-Andy Pettitte (If doesn't come back Moose)

There is not enough power in that line up. Giambi needs to go. I don't want to see the Yankees associated with a cheater and that's exactly what Giambi is!

The Phillies need Rowand and will do whatever it takes to keep him.

Matsui has yet to prove to me that he is anything but a singles hitter with occasional power. He was brought to the Yankees five years ago because he was supposed to be a 40 plus home run hitter. So far his high point is 31....once!

I don't care what anyone says, the Steinbrenners are bringing the franchise to it's knees. They should pay A-Rod whatever it takes to resign him. The Yankees need that bat in the line up. I know that's not a popular statement but we all know that's it's true.

If Santana does come to the Yankees, he automatically becomes the ace of the staff. You're listing him as a 4 slot! That's never going to happen. Phillip Hughes has to have a break out season. If the Yankees don't sign A-Rod you better hope Santana joins the team or it's "wild card" at best next season.

I know I'm not painting a pretty picture but your position lineup is just not good enough to win a pennant.

Read the Mick's answer. He knows a thing or two.
The Yankees were very foolish not to sign L-rod but it is what it is.
I like what you have there but envision these changes. Giambi Sucks and should be dealt for a waterboy. Put Andy Philips on 1st base because he's a good position player.Get Joe Crede to replace that loser for third base and hope his back is batter. He'll hit you 25-30 HR's and field the position. The Infield is set. Sign Andrew Jones for his power and put him in Center field. Put Abreu back in Left, Melky in right and DH Hidecki.
Joba is your third SP behind Santana and Wang. Hughes is fourth and Kennedy 5th. Mussina is you backup ace and long reliever. Mariano closes but we need a setup guy.

Ok, first i dont know if i like your line up that much... I think yanks should pick up on a new second baseman and def. move Cano over to 3rd hes a great fielder and would look good on 3rdbase. next move Mussina in the bullpin as a reliever, Ian Kennedy sp4, grab Johan and he would would be sp5, as for Pettitte idk we will have to see later in the year if he takes a deal with yanks, or if yanks can afford to have him if the Johan deal comes into play,... witch probly will.

all besides these things the line up wasnt to bad...

i think that for the commonly used season, the crimson Sox are the suitable MLB group. yet I actually have a real gut feeling that interior the playoffs, the Angels will rally previous the two them and the Detroit Tigers to make the international sequence. I actually have a gut feeling that Prince Fielder leads Millwaukee to the international sequence. it somewhat is going to likely be a brilliant 7 sport international sequence wherein Ben Sheets throws a million shutout, yet John Lackey overpowers him and throws 2. yet this is a extensive gut feeling. Angels over Brewers, 4-3.

I like it all except for Giambi. I don't know what the contract is but I don't think he should be there. I also think we should try to get a new second baseman.
