Citrus, Palm Tree, Jacaranda, Bottle Tree, Brazilian Pepper (Fast Growers), Ash Tree (Different Types). Ficus trees are great and stay green all year round, but don't plant them too close to the house, the roots are crazy and the trees get big.

Not my favorite, but do really good in Phoenix:
Palo Verde, Mesquite, African Sumac and Olive.

Now's the time to plant so they take off during spring and be well rooted by summer.

Palm, Joshua, or any desert trees that don't require a lot of water. This is because Phoenix is in a desert climate. Water is naturally scarce. Also we've been in a drought for the past 10 years.

Take it from an ex-resident. Citrus trees do well, as do Olive trees. Plant in the EARLY spring was when I did it, but check with local Nursuries for the recommended times for specific trees.
