Extracurricular activities are easy to pad and tough to verify -- so I doubt that most colleges pay as much attention to them as people think. Having no activities is bad. Having lots isn't any different from having several.
Your admissions essay is where you can make yourself stand out.

Most important thing is that you have taken an active leadership role.
Now, club membership is really not the defining aspect of what gets you into college. Your grades are, along with standardized test scores. About half the incoming class will be slotted on these factors alone. It's only the bottom half of the class where extra-cirricular activities REALLY come into play - when they are looking for mitigating factors to your poor GPA, like you were on 3 varsity sports, treasurer of the Theater club, lead in your school's production of The Music Man, and President of the Central High School Jack Black Film Club all while working a part-time job and coaching little league for the local orphanage.
Keep in mind, involvement in your community fosters personal growth and this may be more important than *just* getting into college.

It's not the kind of club that matters, it's your level of involvement. Do what interests you and showcases your strengths, and you'll be fine.
