Well the thing is, there are many different causes of snoring, so in order to adequately tell you what to do, we'd need to know what is causing the snoring.
It can be hereditary, aging, being male (typically have more narrow air passages), allergies, asthma, sinus infections, being overweight, smoking, alcohol or certain medications, and sleeping posture.
Since it can be a variety of these things, the best thing to do would be to get him to see a doctor about it so he can figure out what could help him stop or you could continue to make him wear the nasal strips. Goodluck! I know how it feels.

Depends on why he is snoring. Many men snore because they are overweight and the fat that is in their soft pallet adds to the pallet diameter and the pallet "flaps" when their air way shrinks and their tongue relaxes during sleep. If he is overweight he can lose weight to help.
There is also a medical procedure called a UPPP and the surgeon will trim the soft pallet and remove the uvula and tonsils therefore opening the airway so that even when the tongue relaxes the airway will stay more open.
People who have obstructive sleep apnea (wake up gasping for air etc) often snore so loudly that their partner cannot rest at all. Check out the link for UPPP.
It can be a painful surgery and he needs to try everything else possible before considering it.

"he's not really trying to help anyone - hes trying to get in the womans pants, or look like a tough guy - when infact - he's just being a tool. usually at the expense of some poor (smaller) man, who hasn't done anything wrong." i think by the fact that you asked if he stopped a man from beating or raping a woman pretty much says he was doing something wrong. i dont know about this "whiteknight" bs but if a man or a woman either one would walk by and let that go on and do nothing about it, it makes them a pretty shitty excuse for a human being in my book. this so called "poor (smaller) man should have been keeping his body parts to himself. how does that turn into the guy stopping it being the bad guy? EDIT: i know that some use it as a term of derision, that doesnt make them correct. you can find people that think all sorts of screwed up nonsense....thats just one more example.

If his snoring is really loud and disruptive, chances are good that he has a condition called sleep apnea, which MUST be taken seriously. Untreated sleep apnea not only stresses both the snorer and everyone else in the house who can't get a good night's sleep, it can also lead to heart malfunction and death! Contrary to popular belief, people who are not overweight CAN have sleep apnea, and it can kill normal-weight people as fast as obese ones. Nasal strips, sprays, etyc will not help.
Apnea is easily treated with the use of a night-breathing aid called a CPAP. He must see a sleep doctor before he can get a CPAP, as they have to be individually adjusted, but most insurance covers the cost. CPAP eliminates snoring 100% and keeps his heart from being damaged. Surgery is very rarely used to treat apnea, as the success rate is not that good.
Please ask your doctor to refer him to a sleep doctor or sleep clinic ASAP. These facilities often have a long waiting list, and procrastinating can really damage his health. Do it today.
This is damaging his health and yours as well, and you need to be very firm with him that he IS going to get a sleep study done! Sleep apnea patients often are in denial about their condition, as they don't hear their own snoring. He will have to make some adjustments, but he will feel so much better (and so will you) that he will later be glad you pushed him. I speak from experience -- I didn't believe I snored until a friend I was staying with told me the same thing my spouse had been complaining about for months.

It may be possible for his snoring to be reduced with medical treatment. It may be a sign of sleep apnea. Most likely he is not going to be running to the doctor about it anytime soon, so you need to find a way to adapt!
Earplugs may help.
Good luck

Do you have a spare bedroom? That's what I usually do.
But my man is about to have a sleep study to find out what's wrong. Is he overweight, stuffed up?
Only he can pursue treatment for this. I feel your pain, I know it's annoying.

One of the more effective, and unfortunately the hardest, ways to reduce snoring is to loose excess weight. A substantial proportion of snoring is another effect of being overwieght.
