If we are talking sin as in religion, remember the church lesson on all humans being borne to sin.

If we are talking on how to forgive AND forget when a lover cheats on you, you have to be able to accept the apology and believe the other person is truly committed or there should not be a relationship.

Do you accept your partner now? Or do you need reassurance? Ask the partner about why you feel this way.

If it's a matter of "sin", then include yourself in the category: "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone." =)

But irregardless of who sins most, you have the power and responsiblity, if they have come clean and repented, to forgive.

You cannot forget. Your mind won't allow that. BUT! You can do powerful (what I like to call) "Replacement Therapy" on your marriage.

Basically, your mind will hold and store only so many conscious memories. The trick is to make a bountiful amount of GOOD new ones.

Purposefully create some brand new, exciting and fun memories which include physical and emotional activities that you both enjoy. Something that takes the wind out of you, includes interaction and laughter. Not movies or church. Something that you "need" each other to do. Sports, outside things, etc.

By creating new memories, you are trading negative for positive memories: "beauty for ashes". It works! Make it work!

No one can sin against you. You are not a god.

You need to move on. I couldn't forgive my spouse for cheating on me. If that ever occurred, then the marriage is over. Some acts are unforgivable by me. Once the trust is gone, it's over.

Could you elaborate on this question? Are you wanting to forgive a cheating spouse or move on?

that's hard it would need to be healed first, it probable that it will never leave you completely but forgiveness is a concept of love understanding and trust in my opinion. They need to except that you are doing your best and they made the situation.Only God has that ability were all human can't get it all right first time around.

The pain will ease, but you will never forget that your trust was taken for granted. The thing that you have to remember is that both of you, at all cost, want to make your relationship work. But it has to be both of you willing to work at it.
