If you want to immigrate to Canada and you are granted a imigration visa - YES you can! But there are numerious conditions you need to fullfill in order to qualify, go check on the website on Immigration Canada for all the details.

It is very hard to just get a job without immigrating. Maybe the British might have some lesser predicaments to getting one due to the Common Wealth. In general it is hard!

If you are sent by your firm, you won't have a problem but if you just decide you want to work there, it is a lenghty and complicated process. To get an immigration visa it takes about year or two at the most, depending on when in the year you apply and will you make the quota for the year. Then you will need to stay in Canada for 3 years before you can become Canadian and get the passport. Until then you will have a landed immigrant status and you will be allowed to work.
