ssshhhh don't tell all my relatives in Texas I said this, but I think the best BBQ is in Kansas City, what with Gates & Sons and Bryants. Even the cheap BBQ, like Wyandotte BBQ is delicious there. What do you think?

Saul's BBQ in Carolina is fantastic too. I like the woodchips and sawdust all over the floor.

You are right! I've been there and the BB-Q is out of this world. There are some good places in Tennesee and Kentucky!

Tennessee... try The Rendezvous or Corky's.

Sticky Fingers has great ribs. They're in the Southeast.

A friend of mine told me the best bbq will be found in a joint with no front door and no sign out front. The only way you'll know it's a bbq joint is by the smoke coming from the roof and the people gathered there.

Benton, KY, Hutchens BBQ. Theirs is the best smoked pork shoulder and homemade BBQ sauce - ever.

My brother brings back 2-3 shoulders at a time for friends up here. When I was a kid, my dad would always bring some back with him whenever he went home to see his family in KY.

I have some in my fridge right now. BBQ for breakfast? You bet.

I have friends in Kansas City whom I visit a couple of times a year, and I must agree they have some killer BBQ. What's funny, is that a lot of the best places are located in the absolute worst parts of town.

Check out Abe's BBQ in Clarksdale, Miss. It's Lebanese! Yum!

There is also a joint outside Helena, AR, whose BBQ is so hot it's almost curry-like.

I sure wish I could go Down South right now :-)

Hey, you have relatives in Texas????

Are you one of the Bush's........? ;)

As far BBQ, I'm a vegetarian, so I wouldn't know good BBQ from hellish BBQ--plus, I've not exactly been all over the United States, lol! Since Darth lives in San Diego, I'll say that San Diego has the best BBQ!

That's easy! The best BBQ is the BBQ you are eating right now wherever you are!

Best of Luck to You!

Texas has the best. Always has, always will. The funny thing, when travelers come through and stop for barbecue, they always ask how do you order and eat it. The people working there have no idea what they are talking about. I think I will do a booklet for travelers on how to order and eat barbecue. lol

Uhhhhh the southeast. duuuuuuuuuuuh. There is no finer barbeque ever. We make other reigions look like cavemen roasting mammoth.

EDIT:

Brigit! You are so awesome! SC barbeqes is the BEST. There's this little place in New Ellenton called Dukes, and they will put everyone else to shame to shame.

Mary, that's hash, and it is not the barbeque I'm talking about. I'd have to agree wth you on that note though, uck.
