Say you are feeling a bit under the weather and don't want to compound or create any problems by dehydrating yourself with alcohol. Or you could say you are or just recently finished taking antibiotics or other medication that doesn't mix well with alcohol. Other than being the DD that's the best I've got.
Good luck! And GREAT idea on breaking the news to the family! I love the fortune cookie idea!

You could say you are driving, or you could take the glass of wine and not drink it. Good for you for being so healthy even before baby comes!
And you probably won't have any noticable signs of being pregnant once you get pregnant that early. Usually, you start having symptoms that are obvious around 6 weeks, so you should be good. You could easily pass that off as being under the weather since it will be winter!
Good luck!

Just saying no is a good idea.
You could tell them you are dieting or detoxing. (In preparation for or because of excesses over xmas.)
You could fib a bit and say you have already had a few and want to stop.
Or just make sure you always have a (soft) drink in your hand, then nobody will offer.
Or if they know you are planning one, start refusing drinks now and say you aren't drinking because you hope to get pregnant.

You could always say that you took some asprin or allergy meds earlier in the day for a head-ache/allergies so you do not want to drink (as you are not supposed to drink when you have asprin or any other meds).
Also, if you say that you have a head-ache or allergies or what-ever, if you are haveing any pregnancy symptoms, you could always blame them on not feeling well.

Tell them that you are the designated driver for your husband, maybe that will work. Otherwise, just tell them you don't feel like having a drink, nothing wrong with that. If they are that pushy, ask them why it's so important to them that you have a drink?

Why do you have to say anything at all? If someone asks if you want an alcoholic beverage just say "no, thanks for asking." End of story.
People really want to go into too much detail when a simple "no" will suffice.

Tell them you are on an antibiotic, and therefore can't drink. If they have any manners, they won't ask you what it is for, if they do, just say, "That's pretty personal."
