yes. the division winners earn the top 4 seeds. the 2 wildcard teams are the teams with the best record in the conference without winning their division. regardless of the wildcard team's record though, they are still behind the division winners.
for example, if the Seahawks win their division this year with an 8-8 record, they would still be a higher seed than a wild card team like the Giants even though the Giants might have a 10-6 record.
yes, there can be 3 teams from one division make it into the playoffs. the Colts can win their division, granting them a playoff birth. if the Titans and Jaguars have the best records of any other non-divisional winner in the conference, they can make the wildcard spot. this incident happened last year for the NFC East, where the Eagles won their division, and the Giants/Cowboys were the wild card teams.

Each division winner IS guaranteed a playoff spot. After that 2 wild card spots are given to the 2 teams with the best records. So, yes there could be 3 teams that get in from the AFC South.

Each division winner is awarded a playoff spot, along with two wildcard teams in each conference.
The division winners also get a higher seed, so an 8-8 Chargers team could conceivably host a 12-4 Steelers team. In the 2005 season, the 10-6 Pats hosted the 12-4 wildcard Jags.

All division winners are in the playoffs. The top two division winners get a bye. The next 2 division winners play one of the two wild card teams. If a team is 2nd in their division with a better record than the top team of a different division they do not get a playoff spot unless they are a wild card. The match ups are the best team plays the worst. This is motivation to play hard even after you are in the playoffs. I hope this helps & GO COWBOYS!

Unfortunately one of the AFC West teams is guaranteed a playoff spot even though it looks like none of them will deserve it.
The four division winners get a playoff spot. Two more wild cards go to the two teams with the next best records, no matter what division they're in.

Each division winner get a spot. Also, the 2 best teams that do not win the division. That equal 6 teams per conference, 12 teams total.

Yes, each division winner gets a playoff spot. Then the two remaining teams with the best record in each conference (regardless of division) get the two wildcard spots.

I say shop style of video games at 162 for the two leagues. basically upload greater intra-branch video games to make up the version, in spite of if it potential enjoying some branch combatants extremely greater suitable than others. 2 divisions consistent with league is nice with me. it rather is the way it substitute into whilst i substitute right into a toddler. yet not six communities interior the playoffs consistent with league. shop it at branch champions plus 2 wildcards. time table first around at 5 video games, then league championships and international sequence at seven video games. ... yet to truly revolutionize the sport and time table ... substitute MLB into 2 leagues; a real-tier league and a 2d-tier league, with relegation and promoting from one league to the different between seasons. i be responsive to, this does not take place everywhere else in American activities inspite of the undeniable fact that it would be exciting. it would provide mediocre communities something to combat for close to the tip of the season, i.e., of project to flow as much as the better league or ward off shifting right down to the decrease league.
