Looking to buy a laptop and would like to get the 'right' service since they require a 2 year contract. Current cell phone contract expires in Jan, so I will be free to change companies if need be.

Well I have not looked into this topic in awhile, but when I did about a year ago, sprint had by far the fastest connections. The only downfall was Sprint was not covered as mucha s someone like Verizon. So there are some pros and cons that you must look into before purchasing. And just remember most will give you a 30 day trial period, if you dont like it get out as fast possible, so you will not be charged a cancellation fee.

To my knowledge Sprint is the fastest data.

While my T-Mobile uses the Edge network my boss under Sprint will do circles around me.... on average, if the connection is good, he can get roughly 1Mb download speeds on his cell phone (compared to my 100kb - or somewhere around there).

Sprints only issue is the availability... he can get those speeds at work (in the city), but when he is home the speed isn't quite as good.
