BOLINGBROOK, Illinois (CNN) -- Police are using tracking dogs, airplanes, infrared sensors and volunteers on foot Tuesday to look for a young mother who disappeared nine days ago, leaving her 4- and 2-year-old children behind.

Friends and relatives of Stacy Peterson, 23, say her disappearance is suspicious.

Her husband of four years, Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson, 53, reportedly has told police his wife said she was leaving him for another man, and police are not treating the disappearance as a criminal investigation.

i have to agree with everyone. this guy looks suspicious. 4th wife. left her 4 and 2 year old children behind. i mean, wouldn't she take her kids if she was fearful of them. you protect your children. most parents would not leave them behind. sad sorry.

how terrible sad, we had lacy peterson in california. her husband scot is in jail, I think they should have thrown him in the bay. well I heard on the news they were bringing in aqua search, I think thats how they found that preg. a few months back. good grief, I think her husband did it, you know sometimes cops, think they are god almighty, when they get that uniform on, and thik they can get away with anything, some of them stick togeather, no matter what, but I hope something happens soon, I think they just found a woman that dissapeared, she was in another state, but I'll bet ya the cop did it. have they done a lie detector test on him???? I will pray for the family, that they find her.

through fact they look for individuals who have been on the threshold of her and might of had a reason. through fact the husband lives together with her they seem to verify if something went bitter interior the dating. Then they look on the chums and family members, or people who might have a reason to do injury. this is definitely the comparable while the guy is going lacking. They first question the spouse.

According to stories i saw on tv his other wife met a similiar fate. Where's there's smoke, there's fire. When will people ever learn that there are nuts out there and if you make amistake and marry one just ell them you are going to the store and haul it! Take care. Lost a friend this way, what a waste, her crazy long time husband blew his brains out, justa waste. Be careful..

Sounds mighty suspicious to me. A man doesn't just lose two wives to these kind of strange circumstances. It's too much of a coincidence, and I don't believe in coincidences. Plus, no woman is just going to leave her babies behind.

I read about this the other day, and to be honest it all looks very suspicious!
I think they need to keep him in for more questioning!

I don't remember John Cumbee.

But with a last name like Peterson, you can rest assured that he's a wife-killer.
