i am a sub contractor to a large construction company and i usually recieve payment within 30 days after i have invoiced them as stipulated. they have however not payed my last due payment and are telling me that it is because the time period has lapsed below 30 days , if the payment had gone in last week it would have been 28 days, they are telling me i will recieve that this friday 10/11/07 instead but that means i am now on a 35 day wait, and have eefectively lost a weeks wage, can they do this or am i within my rights to demmand both payment due to me this week?

For future invoices, note on them that interest is due on payments not received within 30 days - and say the interest %. For this one, if you didn't have a statement like that, you are out of luck - be glad they're at least paying you in 35 days.
