Accelerated melting of polar ice caps, a rise in average temperatures world-wide, and a change in the areas of the world where farming is practical.
Milder winters in Minnesota, for example is not such a bad thing, but instead of, say, 2 dozen moderate storms a season, you might see something more like 9 or 10 really bad ones.
Large scale freshwater melt contributes to decreasing the salt content of the world's oceans. This goes far enough, you risk shutting down the ocean's "conveyor belts," a natural process that plays a key part in keeping Western Europe temperate, for example.
That average annual temperature increase could also turn the southern United States into something like the African savannas look today. You don't have to use much imagination to wonder what that will do to farming in much of the United States.
The problem that both liberals, and right-wingers, have with global warming is that neither group tends to have anything more than the most superficial of grasps on the science behind global warming. The liberals tend to want to blame only humanity for global warming, while the right-wingers throw huge temper tantrums at the possibility that man can alter his environment.
There is a great deal to know about the problem, and if somebody tells you that there is one clear, simple solution - they're lying. Global warming is kind of like pursuing a medical degree - you're not going to know everything in a few short weeks or months.

1. The oceans are getting warmer.
2. The polar ice caps are melting.
3. The world's glaciers are receding.

These are three of the most noticeable and verifiable effects of global warming, regardless of their cause, and whether or not humanity has anything to do with that cause.
