Well when I make rock soup, which I actually call stone soup, I will add potatoes, beef, carrots, Lawry's, rosemary, thyme, garlic and sometimes just a bit of tarragon. I use cornstarch to thicken it. Good to serve with a nice crusty bread too. Make sure that everyone gets at least one stone in their bowl too. I know that in my family, we fight over the stones.

rock soup is not made by boiling water. you heat up the rock in pure burning coal, then you place it in a bowl with water and potatoes some chicken strips and so for, it depends on what you like. but the rock has to be red hot.
