Depends which bills: utility bills (gas, electric, water, phone) will get those services cut off. Credit card bills will lower your credit score. (Other bills may also lower your credit score, as more companies are using bill collectors who report to credit reporting agencies, but not paying a credit card bill is a sure way to lower your credit score, and make it harder for you to get loans in the future.) Rent bills will get you evicted from your house. Mortgage bills will get your house foreclosed. If you can accept the consequences, you can veto them.

Absolutely. You can veto the bills but it won't be long before you have no power, water and bill collectors knocking at your door. you might find yourself in court but you can make the consious decision to veto any bill you receive.
