I've had 3 kids. The general rule is usually 6 weeks, but I had sex around the 4 1/2 week after giving birth, so I would wait at least 4 weeks and EASE into it. One more thing to add, you're in for a treat!! Having sex for the first time after having a baby is incredible!! I'm not sure what it is, but for me it was the most intense emotional and physical feeling I've ever had. Maybe you will expierence this also and you will see what I mean.

I think 6 weeks is good healing time but it depends on how much you tore. If you tore alot and they had to stitch you it's best to wait 6 weeks because you could bleed again or get an infection which is not enjoyable. It will also most likely hurt the first time after having a baby. You've been through enough trauma for a little while - I'd give your body a break if I were you. But with the bleeding having stopped - if you didn't tear and get stitches you're probably okay.
